About Aetna
Aetna is the volcanic goddess of Mount Etna in Sicily, southern Italy. She was the mother by Zeus or Hephaestus of the Palici, gods of geysers and hot-water springs. Aetna was the daughter of Uranus and Gaia.
The giant Typhoeus or Enceladus was buried beneath her bulk. His restless turnings were the cause of earthquakes and lava-flows.
