King and Queen of Zhongshe[]
Aria Oh
Aria had just gotten to camp after the events at the Empire State Building and after Nyx had saved her from dying. She hadn't spoken to Cai since, and quite frankly she didn't even know where he was anymore... |
Cai Tzeng
Cai walked around camp, looking a bit sheepish and meek as he wanted refuge. To say he was embarrassed was the least of the onslaught of insults he could to himself - but when you've been in darkness for hundreds of years, what can you do? Eventually, he gave up and sat on a bench, bringing his knees close to his chest. |
Aria Oh
Aria walked around camp with a sort of intrigued look on her face. She had no clue where the Nymph Sanctuary was, nor did she know where she was in terms of the camp. Eventually she walked passed the bench that Cai was sitting on, pausing a few feet away from it to look at a map that was drawn by a nymph she met at the big house. |
Cai Tzeng
Cai looked up and he noticed Aria. Despite the events at the Empire State Building, he didn't particularly wanted to go talk to her - not when he was in this state. Instead, he coughed rather dramatically and looked down to the ground. |
Aria Oh
Aria turned around to find the origin of the cough and when she saw Cai, she didn't recognize him at first since his head was down. "Um... Excuse me, do you happen to know where we are in relation to this map?" She walked over to Cai hesitantly, holding the map up for him to see. |
Cai Tzeng
Cai waited for a moment before looking up at the map, trying his best to avoid Aria's gaze initially, "We're by the Big House." He points on the map to something near the bottom, "Just about there." |
Aria Oh
She nodded as Cai pointed to the map, "Ah okay thank you." She turned the map around so she could see it herself, and once she saw where they were she was easily able to point herself in the right direction. She was still unaware that Cai was the one who just helped her. |
Cai Tzeng
He laughed a little in his head, deciding he might as well at least try and talk to her. His laugh was then out loud and he made a throw away comment, "Five years ruling Zhongshe and getting overthrown and you can't recognise me?" |
Aria Oh
Aria looked up at Cai with a surprised look on her face, "C-Cai? Why didn't you say it was you?!" |
Cai Tzeng
He smirked a little as he shrugged, "I would've guessed you'd recognise my voice, but apparently not." |
Aria Oh
"You said literally seven words, how am I supposed to recognize your voice after seven words?" |
Cai Tzeng
He shrugged, "And when you were looking at me pointing at the map?" |
Aria Oh
"I wasn't really paying attention to you, I was too busy holding the map and trying to fix my hair." |
Cai Tzeng
Again, he shrugged, "So your hair's more important than me? I'll note that down." |
Aria Oh
"Well to be fair I thought you were a stranger, and you always told me to value myself more than peasants or strangers. I guess I'm still used to doing what you say." |
Cai Tzeng
He smirked again, "That's because you're royalty and you value the words of other royals." He shuffled over and made a space for her, "Care to sit?" |
Aria Oh
She nodded as she sat down beside Cai and crossed her legs, "So what happened to you, after you know, the events at the Empire State Building." |
Cai Tzeng
He shrugged a little, putting his hands behind his head as he stretched his legs out, "Explored a little, found my way here all that." He looked at her, "You?" |
Aria Oh
"Oh you know, the usual. I died, got brought back as a nymph by your mother, then came here." It seemed as though she had a bit of anger built up towards Cai, but it wasn't enough to be worried about. |
Cai Tzeng
He smiled a little, "Ah, at least Nyx cares enough to help you now and not when Zhongshe tried to kill us." |
Aria Oh
She looked at him, her hair falling to the side as she did so, "Did you have anything to do with her bringing me back to life?" |
Cai Tzeng
He shook his head, "Not directly. Maybe our marriage and ruling a kingdom was enough. Or me calling your name in the darkness for however many years." |
Aria Oh
"It was probably a combination of both to be honest." She sighed slightly as she looked down at the gravel path. |
Cai Tzeng
He smirked a little, "Possibly. Or maybe she just felt sorry for your death?" |
Aria Oh
She shrugged a little, "I don't see why she would, all I would have been to her was a daughter in law." |
Cai Tzeng
He nodded, "A daughter in law who married one of her sons who took over a kingdom through his powers. If that doesn't deserve some recognition then I don't know what will." |
Aria Oh
She shrugged, "I suppose you're right. But I'm not really her daughter in law anymore." |
Cai Tzeng
He shrugged again, "Apparently not after the terms that they gave us." |
Aria Oh
"At least we can see each other here at camp I guess..." |
Cai Tzeng
He nodded, "Exactly." He turned and smiled at her, "Of course, only if you'd want it." |
Aria Oh
"I'm not just going to stop talking to you because we aren't married anymore Cai." |
Cai Tzeng
Cai's glance diverted away from her and looked to the ground a little, "I wasn't implying that Aria, I was doing what a King would do for a woman regardless of their personal ties." |
Aria Oh
She looked at Cai with a somewhat shocked look on her face, "C-Cai... Are you sure we should?..." |
Cai Tzeng
He looked back at her, a cheeky smirk on his face, "Well, Zhongshe is destroyed, isn't it?" |
Aria Oh
"Yeah but the gods made us get divorced for a reason..." |
Cai Tzeng
"It wasn't the Gods who divorced us, remember? It was the subjects." |
